Welcome back to another Motherfucking Weekly update.
Speaker B:What is happening? I love it.
Speaker A:This is the weekly update for the week of May 26, 2023, right?
Speaker B:That is correct. Yes. That is the weekend, correct? Yes.
Speaker A:It is Friday. Friday 26th. We did that bit already.
Speaker B:Yes, we did. You already did. All the ships at sea, so we got to keep it fresh, brother.
Speaker A:People don't understand how hard it is to come up with fresh new bits every week.
Speaker B:No, they don't.
Speaker A:The struggle of being a white male podcaster.
Speaker B:Yes. The bits and the gags do not flow like wine as much as people think they do. Yeah.
Speaker A:You don't know my life. Well, how's it going, Ian?
Speaker B:It's going. It's going well. It's summer here in northwestern Indiana. In Lafayette. Birds are out, fucking temperatures rising, shit's happening. There's outdoor shit. It's beautiful. I love it here.
Speaker A:In my head, where you live, you got, like, the Snow white thing going on. Like, you wake up in the morning and stretch your arms, and then birds come in and put a bathrobe on you.
Speaker B:I swear to God. We walk our dogs in the morning and there's fucking, like, rabbits just, like, frolicking in the fucking grass. It's, like, fucking ridiculous out here. All the wildlife. You're not that far off.
Speaker A:Well, in Southern California, it should be summer, but for some reason, it rained yesterday.
Speaker B:Wow. You guys are getting more rain than us.
Speaker A:I know, it's weird. I walked out. I don't have a dog, but I walked out this morning and saw not rabbits, but a Burger King cup.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:It's similar in the gutter, which I mean, people still eat it. Burger King.
Speaker B:I was literally just going to say, is that still a thing people go into? I understand if you like, what you the BK Lounge. BK Lounge. There you go. Some fucking early 2000s Dane Cook right there, buddy.
Speaker A:Yeah. Pickles. Extra pickles or whatever.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah, the drive through chick. But Burger King is at the options you have for the same price. Why would you eat a Burger King? Why would you eat a Burger King? I don't know.
Speaker A:Yeah, I straight up don't know where a Burger King is. Oh, there's like but apparently there's one around.
Speaker B:And here's the other thing about Burger King. They just have the same it's like McDonald's, but they just have the same shit for when we were kids and we didn't know it was awful.
Speaker A:It's bad. McDonald's.
Speaker B:Exactly right. They microwave all the shit after they run it over, like, a five second conveyor belt over flames. So it has grill marks so they.
Speaker A:Think you're fucking fooled with the song. The factory music.
Speaker B:Fucking ridiculous.
Speaker A:They had I remember the big difference, other than the fake char marks, was their chicken sandwich used to be like, a long chicken sandwich.
Speaker B:I think they brought that back recently.
Speaker A:And everyone and it's like, who do you think you're fucking fooling. Not me.
Speaker B:The other thing I'll say, though, is for the longest time, until well, until I grew out of the age of I cared about this, their promotional tie ins were always the best. I remember getting these awesome Empire Strikes Back glasses when we ate there when we were kids.
Speaker A:I remember they had the gold Pokemon cards, the gold plated Pokemon card.
Speaker B:I remember they had, like, Lord of the Rings, like, little glass goblets with a little battery pack and an Led light on the base. You could flick them on and they would glow and you fucking oh, my God. They had the fucking merch.
Speaker A:Very funny. We talk about that. I remember oh, God, I must have been, like, five or six. But McDonald's had the promotion for the Flintstones movie.
Speaker B:Sure.
Speaker A:The John Goodman one. And up until, like, maybe five or six years ago, I still had my Flintstones, like, the most useless size Flintstones glass. Of course, it was about half the size of a mug, but in the shape of a mug.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:So espresso maybe a useless glass. Right. But there was a lot of those. Didn't they do McDonald's did, like, commemorative plates, too, didn't they?
Speaker B:Well, the ones I remember when I was a kid were like there were four of them. There was one for each season. And it was like yeah, those were a hot item when I was a kid. It was like, oh, do you have the summer? I never got the summer one. We didn't go. We were on vacation this summer. It sucks.
Speaker A:My favorite McDonald's promotion was you could buy VHS at McDonald's. It's where I got the Adams family movies.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:Those are the ones I remember. I don't remember the rest of the movies, but I 100% you could buy the Adams family and Adams family values at McDonald's.
Speaker B:That's hot items right there, though. I mean, that's honestly hot items.
Speaker A:And it was like a MC. I feel like it was a McDonald's edition. The box had, like, a McDonald's logo on it.
Speaker B:Oh, of course.
Speaker A:I don't know. Yeah, I'd be interested to see what other movies they had, but it was like a thing.
Speaker B:McDonald's. Yeah. The tie ins were the thing growing up. Now. I don't know. Yeah, maybe it still is. I have no fucking clue. Yeah.
Speaker A:I don't. Well, now they do, like, rappers and stuff have, like, meals at McDonald's.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah. You go in the drive through, it's like, get the cardi, B or T Pain.
Speaker A:But it's nothing new. Right? Like, it's just a way of rearranging stuff that's already on their menu.
Speaker B:Oh, no, it's not even yeah, it's just different kinds of like you get a value meal that's got two sandwiches and one fries and a couple of drinks, and then you're happy that day.
Speaker A:Yeah. Super weird.
Speaker B:Fucking bizarre.
Speaker A:So I remember a lot of people when I was growing up, McDonald's, the fish fillet sandwich.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:Was like fancy McDonald's, right?
Speaker B:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:You were like, bougie if that's what you got at McDonald's. And I didn't like seafood as a kid. And now as a pescatarian about a month ago, fast food options for people who don't eat meat are like slim pickens.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Taco Bell is usually the go to, but it's very easy to get Taco Bell to out. So I rolled through McDonald's, and I was like, I'm going to do it. I'm going to get the fish filet sandwich.
Speaker B:Oh, shit. He did it.
Speaker A:Folks that tastes like ass tastes like sea ass.
Speaker B:It's fucking super ass, bro.
Speaker A:Yeah, it tastes fishy, but somehow also doesn't taste like fish.
Speaker B:Well, because it's deep fried. I worked at McDonald's when I was a teenager. It's deep fried in all the same shit. So it's when the fries, the nuggets, the chicken sandwich, and it just everything acquires the taste of everything else. And those are frozen. Like, come on.
Speaker A:Yeah, it was fucking gross. The fries still busted?
Speaker B:Yeah, of course. They're super busting. Of course. Fries still they're goaded with it right there.
Speaker A:Goaded with the sauce.
Speaker B:Some might say, some only you, really. But sure. You want to talk fast food, I'll go into one quick thing. They got a place out here called Culver's. I'll put it up against fucking in and out, and I said it.
Speaker A:I have heard this. I've never been to a Culver's, but people from the Midwest lose their mind. You can get, like, cheese curds there, right?
Speaker B:You can. You don't need to, though. That's what I'll say.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:But the shit is good.
Speaker A:I've heard many a good thing. Yeah. I mean, California, like, our fast food is bullshit. What do we have that no place else has? In and out.
Speaker B:In and out. That's it.
Speaker A:Which is like I mean, I don't really give a shit about in and out. That's heresy. For some California fat burger, too.
Speaker B:You got fat burger that no one else has.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's true.
Speaker B:Fat burger. Yeah.
Speaker A:I remember growing up I grew up in when I was really little, I lived in Nevada.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:Reno.
Speaker B:Sure.
Speaker A:And we had an Arctic circle.
Speaker B:I don't know what that is.
Speaker A:It's a chain that apparently still exists in Idaho and some other Pacific Northwest states, too. But that shit was delicious as a kid. I bet if I tasted it now, I'd be like, what the this is garbage.
Speaker B:Of course. Yeah, because you grew up.
Speaker A:But they had they had a chicken strip that was okay. And also, I don't know if you remember this, jack in the Box chicken strips in the 90s were so much better than they are now, or were in the don't know what it was, but there was something special about Jack in the Box chicken strips in the 90s.
Speaker B:I'm going to say that my experience with Jack in the Box is thusly as soon as their ads got more clever, their food took a fucking nosedive because they didn't need to fucking care anymore. Yeah, I'd agree. And out here we got Hardy's, which is literally the same restaurant as Carl's Jr. But it has a different name. It's fucking bizarre.
Speaker A:I like Carl's Jr. They do beyond burgers now.
Speaker B:Okay. I didn't know that.
Speaker A:Yeah. So you get a western beyond Burger.
Speaker B:Sure.
Speaker A:That's pretty good.
Speaker B:Okay. Fast food corner. Yeah. Fast food corner lives, brother.
Speaker A:But Taco Bell is where it's at. If you don't eat meat, taco Bell is the best vegetarian option for fast food that there is.
Speaker B:I'll co sign that.
Speaker A:It's not even close. Fiesta veggie burrito.
Speaker B:That's new.
Speaker A:Delicious. Trying to think of other fast food stuff. This is a good conversation.
Speaker B:You like this combo. What else is out here that's not out there? Place called Freddy's.
Speaker A:The fuck is that?
Speaker B:It's like a total rip off of, like, steak and shake. Like exactly rip off, which is the same shit. Smashburgers, really small, fucking boring fries. And they got shakes. Who gives a fuck?
Speaker A:Yeah. That doesn't sound great.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Aren't rallies, like, a bigger thing out there?
Speaker B:I remember growing up in the Midwest. They used to be. I have not seen one in the longest. The thing we have that is fucking insane because there's only like three, maybe six left in the fucking country. There was one in the small town I grew up in. It's called dog and suds. It's like a fucking Sonic, but, like.
Speaker A:That sounds like a place where you get your dog washed.
Speaker B:That's literally what everyone sounds like.
Speaker A:A dog. A dog bathing place.
Speaker B:It's like sonic. Before Sonic was a thing, they still do it. They still do the fucking drive up. You go, you flip the button, you got the speaker, you get the boiler maker combo, whatever it's called, they come out. They're not on roller skates, but they come out. They got the thing that attaches to your fucking window, which is fucking awesome. And it's just little tray that clips onto your car window. It's awesome. But there's two of them in this town, and I think there's six in the country. Oh, wow. So they love it here. And the place is packed on, like, during lunch. Not at dinner so much. People aren't feeling it for dinner, but during fucking lunch. The place is jam fucking packed.
Speaker A:There's a sonic near me. And if you've never eaten out of Sonic, I highly recommend going and doing the drive up option where they roller skate out. Because if you've never seen a person at a Sonic fall on roller skates while handling food, it takes you through the entire spectrum of human emotion.
Speaker B:Absolutely.
Speaker A:Because at first, you cannot help but laugh. Of course, because a human on roller skates falling is funny. Objectively funny.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker A:That's a universal language. And then if you realize that it's your food then it's like, oh shit, now it's going to take it like twice as long. But then you're also feel bad for the person that fell. And then you go through the motion of concern like, oh my god, are they okay?
Speaker B:They broke their fucking elbow or some shit.
Speaker A:Yeah. And then you're like, oh my god, are they going to get fired? Like, is that a fireball offense?
Speaker B:I would think.
Speaker A:Do they have roller skating schools for Sonic? Oh, they have yeah, just like the the range of emotions and the range of thoughts that go through your head at like light speed just goes through your brain. It's like that scene in Ratatouille where he eats the ratatouille and then flashes, but instead you're just like entering the matrix right when you watch a Sonic employee fall. But also an ocean water. Ocean water is a dope drink.
Speaker B:The fuck is an ocean water? I never had this.
Speaker A:It's one of their slushy things, but it's like coconut and pineapple and something else. I don't know. It's blue.
Speaker B:Blue. Okay.
Speaker A:It got some blue flavor in it.
Speaker B:Sure.
Speaker A:And it's really good.
Speaker B:Love it.
Speaker A:Some people go for the cherry lime and I'm more of an ocean water man myself. And it's with sprite.
Speaker B:Okay. So the representing the rep and sprite. I like that.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's pretty good.
Speaker B:Good shit.
Speaker A:I don't really like the food there.
Speaker B:But the food is awful.
Speaker A:It's worth it to see someone fall.
Speaker B:And always get a good drink. Yeah. Nice.
Speaker A:But outside of fast food, what games you been playing this week?
Speaker B:I have been playing a game that I started months ago and I just kind of fell back into it because I was looking if there's anything on Xbox Marketplace and this was on there months ago and I was like, oh, yeah, I was playing this playing Far Cry Five. An old one.
Speaker A:Is that the one with Gus from Breaking Bad?
Speaker B:No, I think it's the one before. This is the one with the cult in Idaho.
Speaker A:Like the white ruby ridge ass.
Speaker B:They're way more like supernaturally religious, but there's like four of them or something. Or like there's three zones and then there's the main bad guy and you just I don't think I've ever actually played a Far Cry game until this game. And I am fucking it is so loosey goosey. You never really have a goal. You pick up like 30 everyone you talk to gives you a fucking quest and you just really just fucking finish them by accident. You just wander around and you wander into a fucking trailer park and you start shooting fucking people on the drug that the cult uses. And then they're like the little thing pops up and says, oh, you completed Joe Schmo's mission. Go get your fucking buck knife. And you're like, okay. I didn't know I was doing that. It's fun. The biggest problem I have with the game other than what I mentioned with the Lucy Goosey is like it's so unrealistic. Like, you carry a rocket launcher and shit. But then they have this realistic physics thing they're obsessed with where it's like you fall like 10ft, you instantly die. Like, okay, yeah, that would probably well, even that wouldn't probably happen. But like, bro, I'm play I'm playing video game. I don't want to have to restart a mission because I didn't have a way down off this small hill.
Speaker A:And I yeah, I prefer crackdown physics.
Speaker B:Yeah, exactly. Like, give me the the red screen where I'm almost dead. Don't fucking insta kill me for falling 15 fucking feet. But there's a lot of guns. It is fun. The combat is pretty good. But it's just one of those games where I'm just like, I know I'm never going to finish this game because there's just too much. And it's like you can't obsess over doing all the little things. It's too hard to have that checklist in your head because there's just too much to do. It just feels like they way overdid it. I'd never read a review or anything in this game. I just want to do it cold. But I feel like the rest of the series can't be like this. I don't know. Maybe it is.
Speaker A:I don't know. I feel like I played oh, my God. I feel like I may have played Far Cry Three. It's not exactly my jam, right?
Speaker B:Yeah, it's just a gun. FPS. There's nothing really like story. There's no super fun mechanics. It's just an FPS. Like most FPS. Yeah.
Speaker A:It seems like a very generic game, like an amalgam of all the things that are in at a certain time.
Speaker B:Right. And in this one, there's like this thing where the cult has these hallucinogenic flowers everywhere and you'll be walking through them and the screen will get all floaty. And then sometimes you'll just go to not like even a cutscene, but like.
Speaker A:Famously how hallucinogens work.
Speaker B:Right? Exactly. But you'll go to this place and one of the female of this weird cult family is like, talking to you, and you're in a beautiful field with her and you're just like, what? I was fucking in the middle of a mission. And then you come back and you're like, in a different spot and you have to redo what you were doing. And you're just like, I get what you're going for from a storytelling perspective, but it just really annoyed the fuck out of me.
Speaker A:Sounds like a piece of shit.
Speaker B:It held my interest for a couple of days.
Speaker A:I'll say it's fine.
Speaker B:Yeah, it's fine. It's fine.
Speaker A:Oh, God. Well, I'm still playing Tears of the Figure.
Speaker B:You would.
Speaker A:It fucking whips. But I also stopped down to play there's going to be a throwback to play Snowboard Kids on N 64.
Speaker B:What the fuck?
Speaker A:Yeah, I recently got it in a mystery show. On whatnot? Okay, and I forgot how fun that game was.
Speaker B:Right. I don't think I've ever played it.
Speaker A:Think SSX, but before SSX, it's like kids snowboarding and there's less tricks and it looks worse.
Speaker B:Okay, that sounds wonderful. Wow, what a treat.
Speaker A:Probably the best pre SSX snowboarding game. I never liked Cool Borders very much.
Speaker B:Oh, cool. Borders. Oh, I remember cool borders.
Speaker A:Yeah. Published and maybe possibly developed by Atlas.
Speaker B:Atlas is a big name, right?
Speaker A:The Persona Games or whatever.
Speaker B:Yeah. Wow. Okay.
Speaker A:Yeah. So, yeah, I've been playing that Tears of the Kingdom, though.
Speaker B:You're going to talk about it more? Let's hear more.
Speaker A:I mean, it's got to be get Game of the Year. There's no way.
Speaker B:It doesn't this is why I think it will, is because I heard so much when it first came out about how awesome it was, but then it felt like there was like a jump where people played more of it and were like, it's even better than we first thought.
Speaker A:Yeah, it keeps getting better. And I think that this I don't know, I rung a lot of value out of Breath of the Wild. I played Breath of the Wild for a long time.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:Put a bunch of hours into it. I think this game kind of has an insane amount of replayability because the building stuff I'm building stuff all the time in this game. But I look at Instagram videos or YouTube videos of what other people are building, right? And I'm like, Holy shit.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Holy shit. This is why people got obsessed with Minecraft, right?
Speaker B:Exactly.
Speaker A:Except for it's less lame than Minecraft. It's cool. And it's in this world of Zelda, and there is so much gameplay. And the map is, I think, the only thing that the only game I've played where I would say I've got a bigger sense of like, holy shit, this thing is massive.
Speaker B:Was eldon ring. Okay.
Speaker A:But this map is huge. Wow, it is huge. The verticality of it is wild because there's like the whole Upper Sky Island things, right? And then there's all of Hyrule, which is basically the same map as Breath of the Wild. But then there's the whole underground, and it's wild. It's kind of an insane game. Once again, Resident Evil gets fucked over. Of course, Resident Evil two remake did not win Game of the Year because it just happened to be the same year The Sekiro came out.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:And now Resident Evil four remake, which was an even better remake, is going to get fucked because it came out the same year as Tears of the Kingdom. But I am looking forward to the PlayStation Direct, too.
Speaker B:Oh, when's that coming up?
Speaker A:Oh, no, I'm blowing up our spot because it actually takes place tomorrow.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:We record this on Monday.
Speaker B:You told everyone our secret, so it's.
Speaker A:Basically last week, but yeah, we'll see what happens at this PlayStation Showcase, I'm hoping. Here's my wish list. Silent Hill Two release date.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:Silent Hill Two remake. Release date. And like a gameplay trailer because that could be one of the biggest pieces of shit of all time. Or it could be like residential four.
Speaker B:Right? Just yes, of course.
Speaker A:I doubt this will happen. I'm hoping we get like a firm release date for the Eldon Ring DLC.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:I'm not thinking so not holding your breath. No. And possibly some residential Ford DLC news.
Speaker B:Interesting. That'd be interesting.
Speaker A:Yeah, because they're not I mean, from software they're slow as balls. But Capcom, within six months of resonable two remake, we got like the first DLC. And we got kind of got a DLC for re four already. But it was something that was supposed to be in the normal game. I guess they just didn't finish it in time. So it was free DLC.
Speaker B:Fucking hilarious.
Speaker A:But I am excited about that. And it just seems like Xbox is fucking floundering, right?
Speaker B:They're done. I mean, they're done. We talked about this. But I don't know what's on their horizon for Starfield.
Speaker A:Starfield has to be the greatest video game of all time to save Xbox.
Speaker B:But even there like that Major Nelson guy basically said, we don't expect people to sell their PlayStation to get an Xbox. They know it can't be even if it's the biggest, greatest video game in all time, it's not going to do anything. They know they've lost this war on this era. I really think they know that. And they're just like, well, we'll do what we can. But man, I am shocked. I thought they would have put up a fucking fight, but they didn't.
Speaker A:Yeah, I think I said this in another episode. I got my Series X. I traded a three DS XL for it.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker A:I traded a console that no longer has support from Nintendo. Store is shut down for a Series X. And the guy was like, stoked to get rid of it.
Speaker B:Right? Well, I mean, you know that Halo is years and years away even. And it's going to be shit again because that fucking three, four three is garbage, you know? Bethesda like how it's years and years between games. Yes. Starfield Hope, it's awesome. Fingers crossed. Want to play it. But like man, it's tough. It's tough for Xbox right now.
Speaker A:Yeah. They got like nothing going on.
Speaker B:No. Even Game Pass, which was like, for a while felt like it was the fucking game changer of like, you can play all these free games day one. Now you're like, what? Free games? I don't want to play any of these fucking games. What?
Speaker A:You don't want to fucking play See at Thieves anymore?
Speaker B:I don't even know. I don't I mean, maybe I would I might enjoy it. I don't know.
Speaker A:Yeah, it it seems like catastrophic mismanagement.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And I guess PlayStation just killing it, right? I mean, God of War Ragnarok just an absolute juggernaut of a game.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Why on earth would you play Eldon Ring on Xbox when you could play it on PS Five when you already.
Speaker B:Have a PS Five for fucking all the shit that's still and, like, you know, we're half we're supposedly halfway through the life of PS Five, which is shocking to me, but that's what they're saying.
Speaker A:It's only been, like, six months where you could easily get one.
Speaker B:I know, but it came out years ago. But they're saying half of life. They're already looking down the road at the Six. But there's still a lot of fucking shit. Like, there's the second Spiderman game, which appeal, Bumper, the Wolverine game. All this stuff is, like, on the horizon for PlayStation. And then you look at Xbox and like you said, it's Starfield. Cool. And then what? And then fucking when that game comes out, then fucking what?
Speaker A:I know, because it doesn't seem like there's anything else on the horizon, right? Did you see that shit on Reddit? That, like, fake.
Speaker B:The fake.
Speaker A:I think it's fake, but it's, like a list of things that they might announce at the PlayStation thing. No, let's go over that. That's news. We're now a news podcast.
Speaker B:Video game.
Speaker A:News podcast.
Speaker B:I love it. I'm into it.
Speaker A:So apparently there's a rumor that they might announce the Last of US factions, which I could see it's the multiplayer multiplayer Last of US game.
Speaker B:I think they'll announce that. I think they'll announce that.
Speaker A:Twisted metal, I'm assuming a reboot I.
Speaker B:Would not be surprised with.
Speaker A:I wouldn't be surprised either, especially with the show coming out.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Both of those. PS Five exclusives, of course. Then Resident Evil Four, VR. Resident Four remake VR. That would be cool. Metal Gear Solid Three Remake. Snake Eater.
Speaker B:Fuck yeah. Fuck, yeah.
Speaker A:Which would also be a PlayStation exclusive, of course.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:The Silent Hill two mortal Kombat, which I'm sure we'll hear about. That trailer looked incredible.
Speaker B:Yeah, it does. Mortal Kombat One.
Speaker A:Yeah, it looks so sick.
Speaker B:Yeah, it looks great.
Speaker A:Final fantasy. Seven. Rebirth. The next in the Final Fantasy Seven remake trilogy, which I could see. Disney Domination, which is a square enix game. So maybe like kingdom hearts?
Speaker B:E. Yeah, that'd be fun.
Speaker A:Astros Conquest. I'm actually kind of excited to hear about that. I knew that they're working on a full Astro game. Yeah. Let's do it. Let's go.
Speaker B:Let's fucking do it. I mean yeah.
Speaker A:Half life. Alex VR half life game.
Speaker B:So they're going to port. That from steam. Okay, fine.
Speaker A:Yeah. Death Stranding two.
Speaker B:Wow. Fuck. I don't buy that one.
Speaker A:I mean, we're already seeing posters for it, I guess, but yeah, I don't know.
Speaker B:That's a 2025 game. Yeah.
Speaker A:Who knows? Kojima be doing his thing. Hades, too. That's an interesting one.
Speaker B:Yeah, I could see that.
Speaker A:Darkest dungeon two no surprise. There a new kill zone game.
Speaker B:That would be a surprise to me.
Speaker A:Yeah. Marvel spiderman Two, which I feel like is going to be like the big Marquee thing. It is. And then a game from Santa Monica studio. Dark Side.
Speaker B:Okay, listen, anything they do, I'll take a look at. Just because it got a war. Yeah.
Speaker A:But 99% of this would be PlayStation exclusives and these are like, the biggest games coming out and none of them are for Xbox.
Speaker B:Well, and then Xbox is doing their thing and is it just going to be a starfield demo? I don't even know what they I mean, I know they've bought every fucking studio in the world, like, four years ago, five years ago. And nothing's fucking coming out from these fucking assholes. Right?
Speaker A:Why aren't they hiring, like, a ton of developers and working on a new Fallout game?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Since they own fucking bethesda.
Speaker B:Yeah. Get a fucking fallout game. The 76 was a disaster. But get us that.
Speaker A:But instead of doing that, they told us that we're like, five years away from a new Fallout game, that we're going to get the Star field, then hope maybe if we're good, we're behaved, we'll get a new Elder Scrolls and then maybe we'll get a new Fallout. And it's like, I don't know, man, fallout Four was a fucking monster hit. Maybe just do another one of those.
Speaker B:Yeah. You don't have to follow your self imposed rules when things are this fucking dire.
Speaker A:Yeah, Fallout 76 sucked ass. But that's still a franchise that has juice. People still love Fallout games.
Speaker B:Absolutely. And they should.
Speaker A:I mean, there's still people that play a Fallout Three. Fallout, New Vegas, those are still good games.
Speaker B:New Vegas is a fucking masterpiece. And I won't argue this. It's a masterpiece.
Speaker A:Yeah. So why on earth wouldn't you lean into the IPS that people already love? Stick it to Sony. Make it to where Fallout is console exclusive, Xbox. Do what you got to do. Do you think Sony is ever thinking, like, oh, it would really rock the boat since we let God of War only be on PlayStation consoles?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:I don't think they give a shit.
Speaker B:Of course not. Well, and find what Sony's not doing those kind of expansive RPG style bethesda games. There's not that many on fucking PlayStation that I can think of. Find something like sports games, lean in, make a deal with fucking EA. I don't know. I don't know. Make people be like, I got to buy an Xbox now. Yeah.
Speaker A:Could you imagine making Madden or something like Xbox exclusive?
Speaker B:They have the money. Fuck. Well, maybe they I mean, to be.
Speaker A:Fair, I guess most people who play Madden probably play on Xbox. That's like an Xbox kid.
Speaker B:Yeah, that's a thing.
Speaker A:But yeah, I mean, God, do something. Otherwise it's going to be a PlayStation world and we're just going to start seeing $80 PS, five games.
Speaker B:I know.
Speaker A:There's going to be no competition because Xbox is totally flopping, right? Now.
Speaker B:Fucking disaster.
Speaker A:Red Dead redemption. Buy rockstar.
Speaker B:There you go.
Speaker A:Why didn't they do that? Why didn't they buy Rockstar, make the next GTA and the next Red Dead Xbox exclusives?
Speaker B:Well, they're trying to do the Activision Blizzard thing, but for what? For Call of duty. I mean, it's all for Call of Duty. It's for nothing else. Yeah, think about it if you get that.
Speaker A:But even if they have Call of Duty, they would never make Call of Duty console exclusive. It sells too much everywhere. Which is why they made the deal with Nintendo. Because Nintendo is going to start getting Call of Duty games. So that's not even a good idea for them to have console exclusives. It'll be a good idea for them because I guess it would float them capital right while they flounder, trying to find something good for themselves. But I mean blizzard. What? You're going to make fucking Diablo an.
Speaker B:Xbox exclusive when 90% of people play it on PC?
Speaker A:Yeah. When's the last time Blizzard, like, mattered in the console game? Super Nintendo overwatch?
Speaker B:Maybe.
Speaker A:Yeah, I guess that's a game that makes sense to be multiplatform. You end up losing money not having that be multiplatform, not getting people that wouldn't make people buy your fucking console. Yeah, but you got to find something. Buy rockstar. Make the next GTA Xbox exclusive. Make the next Red dead Xbox exclusive.
Speaker B:Then I'm buying one. I mean, I have one, but if I don't have one, then I'm buying one. Because both of those games are worth a console.
Speaker A:Yeah. Is nobody at Xbox thinking what games would make people buy this console?
Speaker B:They're not. They're clearly not. They're completely out of sort right now with what's going on in this fucking thing because they're fucking disastrous.
Speaker A:Because I'll tell you what, the idea of Red Fall made me trade for an Xbox Series X, and then that game sucked shit.
Speaker B:Right? That game sucked shit.
Speaker A:Yeah. Really, really bad. So you got to do better. Got to do better.
Speaker B:Let's get fucking Major Nelson on this fucking podcast and just fucking put his feet to the fire. I'm reaching out. I'm reaching out for next week.
Speaker A:Let's get Bill Gates on here. God.
Speaker B:Okay, Bill. BB's down at Epstein Island. He still hangs out down there.
Speaker A:He's still too busy being the world's the world's second most divorced man behind Elon Musk.
Speaker B:Elon Musk and him. Yeah. They fucking count their money together in their race car beds.
